holiday

Event parties and pop-up shops are an exciting twist on the home party. Event parties are held outside of the home and are growing more and more popular. Event parties can be held in an office, restaurant, coffee shop, retail establishment and so on.

More and more establishments are teaming up with direct sellers on a regular basis. A boutique, gym, yoga studio or bookstore might want representatives who offer tea or food samples; a cafe might like to invite representatives of jewelry, clothing or home decor.

Both the store front and the representative promote the event and it creates a blending of customers. The representative's customers return to the store, and the store's customers become the representative's customers, too.

During the holiday season, many establishments and storefronts are looking to get more people in the door. Aside from their regular services and goods, they are looking to offer extra special events, sales and products to their customers to increase their holiday shopping sales.

This is where you come in!

Write down a list of the types of establishments that might be interested in your product, find ones in your local area and reach out to them!

Here are some examples:

Clothing & Accessories: Reach out to local yoga studios, hair salons, nail salons and gyms.

Kitchenware: Think coffee shops, restaurants and home decor.

Beauty/Spa products: Hair salons, nail salons, clothing stores, gyms, home decor, yoga studios and preschools.

Food Products: Bookstores, home decor, kitchenware stores and spas and salons.

Home Decor/Cleaning Products/Organizational: Boutiques, cafes, bookstores, salons and yoga studios.

Educational/Entertainment: Daycares, hair salons, grocery stores and gyms.

The key is to think:

  • Who is my customer?
  • And where are they?

If you are setting up a pop-up holiday booth for leggings at a yoga studio Wednesday's at 3pm will your customers be there? Probably not. Your customers are probably mom's who are picking up their kids from school or women who are at work. Be sure to think of your customer's habit patterns and find out where they go before selecting a venue, date and time.
